Steven Page has been beekeeping for almost two decades. Twelve years ago, he founded Coweta Sustainable Beekeeping, a simpler, better way to manage honey bees. He has shared these methods at local, state, and national association meetings. Over the years, Steve has taught at many workshops.
He enjoys teaching and has mentored many people over the past 18 years. Steve manages Barrington Farms Apiary in Coweta County, which has over 50 colonies. He is certified through the Georgia Master Beekeeping Program and is the past president of the Coweta Beekeepers Association where he also served on the board for many years.
The Demaree method gives beekeepers a way to manage their colonies as they rapidly grow in the spring. It reduces swarming and allows for a very large, strong colony by the time the nectar flow starts. If you are working to overwinter your bees and are looking forward to honey next year, this topic will be of interest to you.
